I designed this typeface during a typographic workshop with Ilya Bazhanov called AussigTypoSafari. I took inspiration from the cracked asphalt of Ústí nad Labem, a city where the workshop took place. They are shaped in weird curves and sometimes connect in an uneven pattern, which ended up being the base for the lowercase letter a. Asphalt is an interesting material, as it is a sign of civilization, but at the same time it feels very uncivilized. The typeface is not finished yet and may end up not being monospace as opposed to the original design.
